Wildlife watching tips

See more on the trail

  • Start early — birds and mammals are most active in the first hours of daylight.
  • Walk slowly and quietly, and wear muted, natural colours.
  • Listen for mixed flocks: the noisy calls of babblers often signal many species together.
  • Bring binoculars, and a camera with a zoom lens if you can.
  • Keep a respectful distance — never touch, feed or chase wildlife.
