Sinharaja Rainforest Guided Trek
Our signature half-day walk through the primary rainforest from the Kudawa entrance, led by a local naturalist guide.
Tour & excursion
An early-morning birding walk in search of Sinharaja's endemic birds and its famous mixed-species feeding flocks.
Sinharaja is one of the finest places in Asia to watch endemic birds. Most of Sri Lanka's endemic species have been recorded here, and the forest is famous for its large mixed-species feeding flocks that move through the canopy in the morning.
We set out early, when the forest is at its most active, and move slowly and quietly along the trails. Target species include the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, Red-faced Malkoha, Green-billed Coucal, Ashy-headed Laughingthrush, Orange-billed Babbler and Sri Lanka Spurfowl. Bring binoculars and a camera — your guide will help you find, identify and photograph the birds.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a light rain jacket and water, and ask us for leech socks. Read our visitor information.
