Endemic Birdwatching Tour
An early-morning birding walk in search of Sinharaja's endemic birds and its famous mixed-species feeding flocks.
Tour & excursion
Our signature half-day walk through the primary rainforest from the Kudawa entrance, led by a local naturalist guide.
Step beneath one of the last great stretches of primary tropical rainforest in Sri Lanka. Starting at the Kudawa entrance, this guided trek follows forest trails under towering canopy trees, along clear streams and through the deep green understorey.
Your guide grew up beside the forest and knows where to look: a Green Pit Viper coiled in the leaves, a Hump-nosed Lizard on a tree trunk, a flash of blue as a Sri Lanka Blue Magpie passes overhead. Along the way you will learn how the rainforest works, why so many of its species live nowhere else on Earth, and how the local community helps protect it.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a light rain jacket and water, and ask us for leech socks. Read our visitor information.
